Évaluations

A precise understanding of how language works is an essential step in order to guide appropriate support.

Several assessment formats are offered, depending on the desired level of analysis, ranging from an initial guidance consultation to an in-depth evaluation.

Each format meets a specific need: to take stock initially, to objectify certain difficulties, or to obtain a complete analysis.

Guidance consultation

Duration: 45 minutes

Price: $150

Take stock initially and define a clear direction

The orientation assessment helps to identify the child's needs and to propose initial avenues for work, within a structured and accessible framework.

It is aimed in particular at families wishing to be guided in setting up the guided autonomy program.

This report includes:

- a targeted exchange with the parents ~15 min

- an analysis of the observed difficulties and the context (linguistic, familial, academic)

- the identification of 2 to 3 priority areas of work

- a referral to a suitable program

This format does not constitute an in-depth assessment, but it provides a clear framework for starting independent support.

Screening

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Price: $250

Observe certain skills and identify specific difficulties.

The screening allows us to explore certain language skills through targeted tasks, in relation to the difficulties reported by the family.

It provides an initial objective assessment of the difficulties, without constituting a complete evaluation.

This format includes:

- a brief exchange with the parents (approximately 15 minutes)

- the assignment of targeted tasks based on the difficulties described

- a structured observation of the skills assessed

- an initial summary of the points of weakness

This format does not allow for the exploration of cognitive functioning or the determination of the nature of the difficulties (delay or disorder), but constitutes a first step in analysis.

In-depth Evaluation

Total duration: 3 to 5 hours + parent interview
Price: $1200

A comprehensive analysis of language functioning and learning

The in-depth assessment allows for a detailed understanding of the child's language and cognitive profile, in order to precisely identify their skills and define appropriate intervention goals. It takes place in three stages:

1. Initial interview (anamnesis) - 45 minutes
An in-depth discussion with parents to gather essential information:

- developmental and medical history

- linguistic and family context (bilingualism, exposure to languages)

- academic path

- family project (settling in, returning to France…)

- description of the difficulties and expectations of the parents

2. Child assessment - 3 to 5 hours
The assessment is carried out in French and is based on standardized tools as well as clinical observations.

It allows you to explore:

- oral language (comprehension, expression)

- speech and articulation

- written language (reading, writing)

- mathematical skills if necessary

- the associated cognitive processes (attention, memory, executive functions)

The tests are adapted according to the identified needs and can be adjusted during the assessment.

3. Analysis and reporting

A written report will be submitted within 2 weeks, and the results will allow us to:

- to situate the child's level in relation to the expectations of their age or school level

- precisely identify the difficulties

- to define targeted work objectives

- to offer appropriate recommendations (family, school)
